The Little Mermaid ( Original title: The Little Mermaid ) is an American animated series of The Walt Disney Company from the years 1992 to 1994, the series is based on the Disney movie The Little Mermaid from 1989. .
Action
Ariel, the Little Mermaid, is the youngest and most adventurous daughter of the Sea King Triton. This makes especially Ariel's friend and companion, the crab Sebastian, a lot of trouble, because Sebastian is marshal and has the task of taking care of Arielle. Dangers lurking through dangerous, big fish, the sea witch Ursula, or even the world of people outside of the sea. For this, however, Arielle interested in particular.

There were 31 episodes produced in three seasons, which aired in the USA on 11 September 1992 to November 26, 1994 by the CBS and Disney -owned channels. The first season includes episodes one through 14; the second the episodes 15 to 23 and the final season shows the consequences of 24 to 31
The series has been translated, among others, in the French, Spanish, Polish and Portuguese.
In Germany, the series ran for the first time from 1 January 1994 as part of the Disney clubs ARD. In addition to broadcasts on Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Toon Disney, ran The Little Mermaid also with RTL, Super RTL and one cable. In Austria, also the ORF one radiates the series.
In parallel with the second season of CBS showed the 13-part animated series Marsupilami on the comic book character of the same name. As part of this series the character Sebastian got a total of eight short films. In Germany Marsupilami was first shown from 1 July to 23 September 1995 by RTL and been repeated only once.
