Toon Disney was an offshoot of the U.S. family channel Disney Channel. The program is based on Walt Disney's animated series, the target audience of the station were children of 3-13 years and cartoon enthusiasts. The Buena Vista GmbH applied for a broadcasting license and the BLM ( Bavarian State Media Authority ) gave then in October the broadcasting license. Program Structure

No new episodes were shown from series, which can be seen for some time on the Disney Channel. From some series only some episodes were aired. Over two years, the program structure was not totally changed, as was previously the case, and some series came no more than two years. The setting of the Toon of the month Toon Extra long and the Toonight could infer that Toon Disney could be set soon. The transmission mode was finally set for 15 April 2010.

In Italy, Toon Disney has started on 24 December 2004. Toon Disney Italy was from 15 April 2010 to 1 October 2011, the only one still sending Toon Disney Worldwide.
Japan
Toon Disney was launched in Japan on 1 December 2005 and has been replaced on 1 August 2009 by Disney XD.
India
In India, Toon Disney was launched in 2004. He has been replaced on 14 November 2009 by Disney XD.
