Jungle Cubs
Jungle Book Kids ( also Disney's Jungle Book Kids or The Jungle Book Kids, engl: Disney 's Jungle Cubs. ) Is an American animated series of The Walt Disney Company from the years 1996 to 1997 with 21 episodes.
The figures in the series are based on those of the Disney film The Jungle Book from 1967, as was done in similar form for Captain Balu and his daring crew. Some of the episodes are based on Rudyard Kipling's stories from The Jungle Book, which could not be used in the Disney movie.
Content
The young Balu, Bagheera, Kaa, Hathi and Loui live together in the jungle. To play the friends meet every day in a ruined temple. The important thing for them is fun, friends, music and of course food. Now and again the little tiger Shere Khan comes along to prove to them that he all so has a lot ahead of them.
It becomes difficult whenever the two vultures Arthur and Cecil are trying to lure the animal into a trap children or Shir Khan needs to prove once again how brave he is.
Characters
- Baloo ( Baloo ) is a friendly bear, whose life consists almost entirely of nap and feed.
- Bagheera ( Bagheera ) is a sly panther with obsessive.
- Louie is a happy orangutan prince who loves music and bananas.
- Kaa is a giant snake that thinks that they could hypnotize others.
- Hathi is a shy elephant who can not say no to his friends.
- Shir Khan ( Shere Khan) is a tiger who wants to be respected and feared by all.

- Arthur ( Artie ) and Cecil (Michael McKean ) are two greedy vultures
- Winifred is Hathi's Elephant girlfriend ( in the jungle book movie she is his wife )
- Akela is a wolf, who later Mowgli will include in his pack
Publication
The series was first broadcast in the U.S. by ABC on 5 October to 28 November 1996 10 October to 29 November followed in 1997 the episodes of the second season. In the same year, a video appeared on the series, later followed by three episodes on DVD. The series was repeated through the channels Disney Channel and Toon Disney.
The German premiere took place from 1 January 2001 by the Disney Channel. The series of the channels RTL, Super RTL, ORF 1 and Toon Disney was sent later.
