Action
France in the 1950s. Since her mother has left the 16 -year-old Janine lives with relatives in a small French town. The lack of love and security they compensated by numerous thefts from cigarettes to high-quality clothing. After school, she slips into another life, exchanged their clothes for silk stockings and pumps, and whiling away the time at the movies with romantic movies. When she is repeatedly caught in theft, she goes to a big city in Provence and there takes the place of a maid on. There she meets at a movie night the 40 -year-old family man Michel know and begins an affair with him. Your life seems at first to get a new direction until it hits the small-time criminals Raoul, she surprised a burglary. This convinces Janine to steal from their masters and run off with the money shared to the sea. There they enjoy a brief period of happiness in love before Janine, who is now pregnant, is denounced by a farmer as a nudist and arrested by the police. In a reform school for girls she meets the confident Mauricette and flees with her. The idea of an illegal abortion rejects again and decides for her child. But in her hometown they can not take hold so that she opens herself to find a new and better life.
