The Lying Game is an American television series that aired on ABC Family between August 15, 2011, and March 12, 2013. The series is based on the eponymous book series by Sara Shepard and includes two seasons with 30 episodes.

Action

The 17 -year-old Sutton Mercer, who grew up in a wealthy family in Scottsdale, Phoenix, finds out that she has a twin sister named Emma Becker, who comes from a poor family and has recently been taken in by a foster family in Las Vegas. In their first real encounter Sutton persuaded her sister to switch roles for a few days, so Sutton can search undisturbed in Los Angeles after her mother. But Sutton does not return after the stipulated time, after which Emma decides the time being the identity Suttons accept. Gradually Emma learns that Sutton has many secrets, what makes it any easier to accept their identity.

In February 2011, ABC Family ordered the series. Alexandra Chando and Helen Slater were already cast in November 2010 for the pilot episode. On November 3, Charisma Carpenter has been cast in a story arc as Annie "Rebecca" Sewell.

On September 16, 2011 ABC Family ordered ten more episodes to be added to the first season. So the first season comes to a total of 20 episodes. Due to the increasing ratings in the second season half extended the ABC Family series in April 2012 to a second season, which began production in the summer of 2012. In July 2012, Charisma Carpenter has been added for the second season in the main cast.

In July 2013 ABC Family announced that series.

In the follow week 1.47 million viewers were measured. The remaining episodes of the first season were shown between 2 January and 5 March 2012. The first season half wanted to see 1.3 million viewers, leading to a rating of 0.5 percent among 18 - to 49 -year-old led. The second season half rose to 1.5 million viewers and a corresponding rating of 0.6 percent.

The second season aired between January 8 and March 12, 2013.
