The Maccabees (band)

The Maccabees are an indie rock band from London, England.

Band History

Their debut single "X- Ray " was released on 28 November 2005 and was then played in London's XFM radio. Greater success came with the publication of her second single, " Latchmere " six months later in April 2006, which was broadcast on radio and MTV. Produced by Hugh Frost and Samuel Bebbington video was a hit on the Internet at the video platform YouTube.

Mid-2006, then reached the band and positive reviews by the British music magazine NME, including a review of their gig at London's Cafe dé Paris where she was dubbed as the best new band in the country. In November 2006, the band Fields, ¡ Forward, Russia! , And Wolfmother toured as part of the MTV Two Spanking New Music Tour. Drummer Robert Dylan Thomas was replaced because of a wrist injury temporarily during the tour of Elliot Andrews ( who now works for Kate Nash ), who accompanied the tour until spring 2007.

The band released their debut album "Colour It In " in May 2007. Before physical music the band came on 14 May to market her album was already available exclusively at iTunes for download on April 17, available on the internet. The single " First Love " was her first chart success in the UK Top 40, followed by " About Your Dress", which took top position 33. The album itself, which received positive criticism by the press, reached number 24 in the charts. In 2007 she toured with the indie group Bloc Party in the USA. At the height of their UK tour in October 2007, she played after a successful year to sold-out house at London's Roundhouse ( spectator capacity: 3000).

Drummer Robert Dylan Thomas left the band in 2008 and was replaced by Sam Doyle.

Was published in 2009 with "Wall of Arms ", the second album, which reached # 13 in the UK charts. It was followed by a European tour as support for the editor.

The album "Wall of Arms " was supplemented in 2010 with four more titles and brought out again, including a new version of "No Kind Words ", which was created as " Empty Vessels ", composed by Roots Manuva.

On the Facebook and Tumblr page of the band's new album ' Given To The Wild " for January 9, 2012 has been announced.
