The Nine (TV series)

The Nine - The Hostages (Original Title: The Nine ) is an American television series that comprises only 13 episodes in a season and was produced between 2006 and 2007.

Action

Nine people who largely do not know at the time that, enter a bank in Los Angeles and are thereby hostages of armed bank robbery. There are, for example, the lawyer Kathryn Hale, the physician Dr. Jeremy Kates, his girlfriend Lizzie Miller and the gambling -addicted police officer Nick Cavanaugh. Even the clerk Egan Foote, who had originally planned to take after going to the bank due to private life problems, is taken hostage. 52 hours takes the drama that did not survive the bank employees Eva Rios next to a security guard as only one.

After the hostage taking most of those who were detained at the bank trying to get their lives back under control. Nine of them remain in contact with each other, support each other and partially even deeper relationships with each other one. Although hailed by the public as heroes, they are classified by the police as suspects because one could have passed among them to the bank robbers information. Parallel to the development of the plot are reconstructed piece by piece in flashbacks, the 52 hours of the hostage crisis.

Background information

The series proved to be a flop in the U.S., so that not only the blow came after one season, but the effects produced were not even fully aired. The narrative structure is comparable to that of the television series Lost, where life and fate of the main players is also shown in flashbacks.
