The Plastic Age (film)

The Plastic Age is an American romantic comedy by Wesley Ruggles from the year 1925.

Action

Hugh Carver is preparing for his departure to the Prescott College. His reputation as an excellent athlete rushes him to his father's pride ahead already; it is praised in the local newspaper. His boarding room he must share with Carl Peters, a college Romeo. With a feigned attack on the girl's room in a boarding school, the newcomer Hugh must pass the acid test. The college student Cynthia Day is intrigued by the handsome and talented young man. She persuades him to a nocturnal rendezvous in a park, in which Hugh everywhere discovered kissing couple from college.

Hugh loses too much in the affair and neglected his training, so that the college team 's expectations may because of him at a major sporting competition with other colleges do not meet. Background

The film is based on a novel by Percy Marks from the year 1924. Production Company Preferred Pictures of Benjamin Percival Schulberg turned on rented stages and locally in Pomona College in Claremont. The Plastic Age was one of the popular in its time college comedies very successful commercially and founded the film career of Clara Bow.

Reviews

The movie magazine Photoplay did not consider in its review in December 1925 represented the college atmosphere implausible and Clara Bow for what you would expect from a college girl.
