The Quireboys

The Quireboys is a British rock 'n ' roll, hard rock and glam metal band.

History

The foundation already laid in 1984 the then 17 -year-old singer Jonathan 'Spike ' Gray, who met in London to the guitarist Guy Bailey. Next bassist Nigel Mogg in the covenant, which soon became the drummer Paul Hornby ( the little later The Dogs D' Amour founded ) and Chris Johnstone was followed at the piano.

The Queer Boys started their career at the Marquee Club and built in London and the surrounding area with its heavily influenced by rhythm and blues Hard Rock quickly a fan base on. After 1987, the offer got to play at the Reading Festival, if they change their name, they named themselves into The Quireboys.

As Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne took over the management, The Quireboys were for her debut A Bit Of What You Fancy by EMI under contract.

On their tours around the globe, they cut with their first live album "Recorded Around The World" and then got to work on the second album. Together with producer Bob Rock, they recorded "Bitter Sweet & Twisted", but were lost in the emerging grunge wave. While they played with Guns N 'Roses on the " Use Your Illusion " tour, but then the formation fell apart.

The first serious Reunion came when Spike, guitarist Guy and bassist Nigel dared to restart in 2001. Thus came the third album "This Is Rock'n'Roll " on the hatch boss villages on guitar and Martin Henderson debuted on drums. For the subsequent appearances in England Jason Bonham jumped.
