The Rattles

The Rattles is a German beat and rock band that was in the 1960s and early 1970s in Germany the most successful of the genre.

Band History

In December 1960, the Rattles were founded in Hamburg by Achim Reichel and Herbert Hildebrandt. On February 3, 1963, the band won a contest in the Hamburg Star Club and then became the first German band with a commitment to this club. In the autumn of the same year they recorded their first single. Then the band went for five weeks on UK tour with Bo Diddley, Little Richard and the Rolling Stones still unknown. In 1966, they were the Beatles together on stage and played the opening act of the Bravo - Beatles - flash tour in Munich, Essen and Hamburg, with great encouragement.

It appeared Rattles records that had regional success in England, and so they were phased celebrated in Liverpool as the " German Beatles".

1977, the Rattles disbanded after some further reshuffles. But since 1988 they play again regularly at festivals and events. On 26 September 2005, the Rattles celebrated their anniversary with a concert in fünfundvierzigjähriges "Hamburg Landhaus Walter " and the DVD Beat Made in Germany, which tells the complete band history.

Published in 2007 Rattles the first studio album in fifteen years, Say Yeah! . The plate contains 15 new songs and was recorded in the Rattles hometown Hamburg. The new songs correspond to the old style that had made the Rattles so well known many years ago.

2010, the 50-year anniversary on stage, the band signed with the Hamburg record label Edel: Records and released a new studio album, Rattles 50, with 14 new songs in a new, modern sound, as they had not necessarily expect it from the Rattles. Appeared the same time re-arranged and recorded Greatest Hits.
