The Raveonettes

The Raveonettes is a Danish garage rock duo consisting of vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo singer and bassist.

Band History

Wagner and Foo, both born in 1973 in Denmark, met during the recording of an album of the band " Pleasure Machine" know. During a stay in Los Angeles, Wagner wrote in 1999, the first title of his new book " Girl on Death Row." Under this name, but few concerts were given before the band in " The Raveonettes " renamed. Most of the " Girl on Death Row " tracks have been released on the first album Whip It On.

In autumn 2001 the band in Copenhagen began with the recording of Whip It On. Within three weeks, the work was completed it. After recording, the guitarist Manoj Ramdas and drummer Jakob Hoyer The Raveonettes played one of their first gigs at the SPOT festival in Aarhus. On tour, the band is also supported by bassist Anders Christensen.

Musical influences are mainly the beat and psychedelic music of the sixties by bands like The Who and The Everly Brothers, but also proto- punk groups such as The Velvet Underground and The Stooges.

Chain Gang of Love

Chain Gang of Love was the first "real" album by the band. It was produced by Richard Gottehrer and is consistently maintained in B- flat major. It was recorded from October to December 2002 in various Danish studios as well as in New York and mixed in London in early 2003. The thirteen songs on the album were all written by Wagner, the exception is That Great Love Sound, which he co-authored with Gottehrer. With two exceptions, all the pieces are shorter than three minutes.
