Heroes from the second row ( en.: The Replacements, dt: Representatives ) is an American sports film starring Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman in the lead roles. Director of the film is Howard Deutch, producer Dylan Sellers.
Action
The film is about the American football team, " Washington Sentinels ". The professionals of the team go on strike. The old coach Jimmy McGinty 's mission with a squad full of reservists to form a team that wins three of four games to help the Sentinels move into the playoffs. Coach McGinty puts together a colorful team of failed ex- professionals, including a chain-smoking Welsh, borrowed a convict, a cop and a born-again Christian. To the leader of the team, the coach makes the failed quarterback Shane Falco, who ended his career due to lack of nerve strength. After initial difficulties, the " Replacemets " perform miracles.
Falco makes friends with the cheerleader Annabelle Farrell. Relationships between the players and the cheerleaders are generally prohibited, although Falco and Farrell are a couple.
