The Silence of the Clamps ( Original title: The Silence of the Clamps) is an episode of the American science fiction animated television series Futurama. Your Original Air Date was 14 July 2011 when U.S. channel Comedy Central; the German dubbed version was first seen on 28 April 2012 on ProSieben. The work was awarded an Emmy Award and was nominated for a WGA Award.

Action

In a tryst with Bella, a daughter of the robot mafia boss Donbot, Bender witnesses a robbery, the robot mafia Calculon. As part of a witness protection program Bender is kept out of the robot mafia after his statement. To find out his whereabouts hires Klemmer, a subordinate of the Donbots on at Planet Express. The Planet Express crew makes on the moon by accident Bender supposedly identified. The Found survived the attack, the robot mafia, but is shot by the jealous Bella. When the crew Bender actually find in a pizzeria, it turns out that the deceased was another, of identical robots. As Bender no longer stands on the death list of the robot mafia, he can return to work.

As the 14th episode of the sixth production season is The Silence of the terminals the total 102nd episode of Futurama. For the screenplay Eric Rogers is responsible. It was directed by Frank Marino. The spokesman of the main characters took part also speaking roles of minor characters.

Awards

The Emmy Awards 2012 Maurice LaMarche was honored for his achievements as a spokesman for the roles Calculon, Klemmer, Donbot, Hedonismusbot, Hyper Chicken and Morbo in this episode of the Emmy for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. It was the second Emmy for LaMarche, who had previously won this category in the year with the Futurama episode Velrrrückt after Ndndir.

For the script for the episode author Eric Rogers was nominated animation for a WGA Award in the category, but the award went to The Simpsons that featured in this category, four out of six nominations.
