The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn

The Life of Noah Dearborn is an American television film directed by Gregg Champion in 1999.

Action

The craftsman Noah Dearborn is already 91 years old and despite his advanced age still very active. He is still working as a carpenter and lives alone in a secluded courtyard. Through a portion of his land, a construction company wants to build a new road, but the old man refuses to sell it. In order to realize the project yet, the contractor sends the psychologist Dr. Valerie Crane. This should provide an opinion as possible so that it can be disenfranchised. This would fall to the state his country, and the construction company could buy it. But Noah defies all attempts and resists successfully with the help of his neighbor Sarah against the forced sale. In the end, Valerie Crane realizes that she has the old man behave towards wrong.

Criticism

Gregg Champion show sensitive, such as an elderly person resists the attempts of powerful corrupt entrepreneurs who are trying to put him under pressure. The film is heartwarming and thoughtful.

Awards

Dianne Wiest's presentation was rewarded in 1999 with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress Miniseries or a Movie. Even lead actor Sidney Poitier received a nomination for the TV price.
