The Sons of Lee Marvin

Sons of Lee Marvin (Eng. Sons of Lee Marvin ) - a humorous secret club, founded by the American director Jim Jarmusch. The members of the club must have a certain resemblance to the actor Lee Marvin, to be relied on potentially for his sons can. Allegedly, the members meet once a year to get together to watch movies with Marvin.

Foundation

John Boorman, the director of the Lee Marvin film Point Blank, who was an inspiration for Jarmusch's The Limits of Control is supposed to have said that Jarmusch externally reminded him of Marvin. The same should Jarmusch have heard of Sam Fuller. During the filming of Down by Law Jarmusch came up with the idea to make a film in which he himself, Tom Waits and John Lurie would play the sons of a played by Marvin figure. Marvin, however, died in 1987, which made the realization of the idea impossible.

Members

Confirmed members of Sons of Lee Marvin include not only the singer Jim Jarmusch Tom Waits, John Lurie, saxophonist, writer Richard Boes, the singer Nick Cave and director John Boorman, who is an honorary member. Further, unconfirmed members should be the singer Iggy Pop, Thurston Moore and Neil Young and actor Josh Brolin.
