The Sound of Girls Aloud - The Greatest Hits (also: The Sound Of Girls Aloud: The Greatest Hits ) is the first greatest hits album by British girl group Girls Aloud. The album was released on 30 October 2006 in the UK and went straight to number 1 in the UK album charts. Thus, it is the first album from Girls Aloud, which reached # 1 on the charts. The album was sold in the first week, 84 354 times.

Since the appearance of it was sold in the UK over 1,150,000 copies and was awarded with triple platinum. It's officially the biggest selling album of the band.

Background

The CD contains all the previous singles from Girls Aloud and the three new tracks Something Kinda Ooooh, I Think We're Alone Now, a cover of the song the band Tommy James & the Shondells, and Money. In addition, a limited edition bonus disc was released with unreleased songs. This includes alternative versions of the singles No Good Advice and Wake Me Up. Furthermore, the bonus CD contains the song Sacred Trust, which originally from the also in Popstars: The Rivals was recorded founded Men band One True Voice. B-sides were the songs The Crazy Life and Models, which was also included on the previous album Chemistry. The song was part of the soundtrack for the movie Run, Fat Boy, Run.

The second and final single released is I Think We're Alone Now, which was published on 18 December 2006. Although the song has sold well, he landed nuf # 4 on the UK singles chart.
