The Speyside distillery

The Speyside is a whiskey distillery in Drumguish, the river Tromie in Speyside, Scotland, United Kingdom.

History

The distillery is one of the younger ones in Scotland. It was founded only in 1990 by George Christie. The name comes from an older Distillery in Kingussie, but which existed only from 1895 to 1911. A special feature is the rather small stills, as well as the relatively low production capacity. There is a mash tun, fermenting vats 4 ( per 20,000 liters ), a wash still ( 13000 l ) and a spirit still ( 7000 l). The water is drawn from an old mill inlet. The distillery has only 4 employees, which take over the entire production.

The whiskey

The standard bottlings are the ten - and twelve -year-old " The Speyside ", and the " Drumguish " no age given. In addition, however, a number of blends as well as the Scott 's Selection are sold.
