The Stolen Airship

The Stolen Airship is a film directed by Karel Zeman, shot in 1966 in the CSSR. He is primarily based on the novel Two Years Holiday ( Original title: Deux ans de vacances ) by Jules Verne, processed but also other motifs and figures of the French writer. The film consists of both live-action sequences, as well as collage animations. It is decorated entirely in sepia and visualized especially the atmosphere of the late 19th century.

Action

During an air show in Prague five boys hijack a blimp. Since the balloon is reportedly filled with explosion proof gas, the children of representatives of the world powers are pursued, which have great interest in the gas. The airship is driven to a deserted island.

In addition to Captain Nemo, the boys meet during their travel to other figures, which are known from various Jules Verne novels.
