The Storyteller

The Storyteller is a television series in which real actors acted with characters from Jim Henson's Creature Shop. It was was an American- British co-production which first aired in 1987 and created by Jim Henson and produced. The individual episodes of the series are based on various European fairy tales ( German, Russian, Greek & Celtic origin ), which are represented by actors and puppets. In the frame story, these stories are told of an old storyteller (English Storyteller - played by John Hurt), who sits by the fire, and each of these legends his talking dog ( a realistic-looking doll - played and spoken by Brian Henson ) says. The music in the series came by Rachel Portman.

Season 2

Henson later ventured to a sequel series The Storyteller: Greek Myths (English: The Storyteller: Greek myths), which had a different story teller (Michael Gambon ), but the same dog. The second series focused on the Greek Mythology, the overall story took place in the labyrinth of the Minotaur place by the fire of the (old ) narrator instead, wandered through the corridors of the new narrator and the dog. Only four episodes were produced:
