The Three Tenors

The Three Tenors ( International Name: The Three Tenors ) were a singing trio of the three opera singers Plácido Domingo ( b. 1941 ), Luciano Pavarotti ( 1935-2007 ) and José Carreras (* 1946), which occurred at several concerts since the 1990s and a number of records recorded. The driving force behind the ensemble was the Italian manager and producer Mario Dradi.

First Appearance

The Three Tenors became effective on April 7, 1990 for the first time on together. The Concert at the Roman Baths of Caracalla on the occasion of the Football World Cup 1990 had 6,000 visitors, about a billion people watched the concert on TV. The orchestra of 200 musicians conducted by Zubin Mehta. The fee for the charity gig Pavarotti donated for medical institutions, Carreras for the Leukaemia Research and Domingo for the reconstruction of the devastated by the earthquake in 1985 the Mexican villages. Due to the immense success of the trio stepped on to the following three FIFA World Cups: 1994 in Los Angeles, 1998 in Paris and 2002 in Yokohama.
