The Very Best of Meat Loaf

The Very Best of Meat Loaf (English for: " The very best of Meat Loaf ") is a 1998 released album, which includes the first 21 years of Meat Loaf 's musical career. Although the album reached the Top 10 in the UK charts, it went platinum and was awarded the platinum record in other countries shortly after publication.

Content

The double album contains all the known songs from Meat Loaf as well as some of his lesser-known 1980s albums.

In addition to hits like Paradise by the Dashboard Light and I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Will not Do That ), this CD contains three new titles. Two of them were written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jim Steinman and adapted by their musical Whistle Down the Wind. The third new title Is Nothing Sacred was written by Steinman and lyricist Don Black. The single version of this song is a duet with Patti Russo, the album version, however, Meat Loaf sings alone. The single version the appear later on the CD VH1: Storytellers.

Bat Out of Hell has 5 songs, Bat out of Hell II: Back Into Hell represented with 4 songs, while no single from the album Blind Before I Stop is represented, has been criticized by some.
