Midnight at the Lost and Found

Midnight at the Lost and Found (English for: " At midnight the lost property office " ) is Meat Loaf 's third studio album, released in 1983 as a sequel to Dead Ringer. It was the last album under the label Epic Records until the release of The Very Best of Meat Loaf in 1998.

Background

After the dispute between Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman 's former songwriter, their paths, Meat Loaf parted, however, was contractually obliged to release a new album. Despite the differences Steinman Total Eclipse of the Heart and Making Love (Out of Nothing at All ) offered for the album, but Meat Loaf record company refused to pay Steinman for it. Steinman's songs were then given to Bonnie Tyler and Air Supply and celebrated great successes. Meat Loaf said in an interview: " The record company was set at that time anti - Steinman, I was anti - record company so we were even. ".

After the long-lasting dispute between Meat Loaf and Steinman, where an agreement was not in sight ( in the end they sued each other ), Meat Loaf was forced to seek a songwriter and also to write my own songs. Meat Loaf is listed as the author of several songs on the album, including the title song. However, Meat Loaf later confessed that he as a songwriter and the album is bad, many felt they were lousy. The fans were disappointed to see that the iconic images of the covers of Bat out of Hell and Dead Ringer by a black / white photograph of Meat Loaf was replaced, while a color photo of a screaming Meat Loaf was used in later publications.
