Theadora Van Runkle
Theadora Van Runkle ( born March 27, 1929 in Los Angeles as Dorothy Schweppe, † November 4, 2011 ibid ) was an American costume designer. She has made costumes for over thirty films. For this she was nominated three times for the Oscars.
Life
Van Runkle, born in 1929 in Los Angeles, studied at the Chouinard Art Institute. Initially she worked as an illustrator for product catalogs and advertisements. Later she worked as a sketch artist for other fashion designers. She is best known for the costumes in Bonnie and Clyde (1967 ), the first film in which she was involved. For this film, she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Costume Design. The following year she presented again Dunaways costumes for the film The Thomas Crown Affair ago.
Your two other Oscar nominations she received for two films of Francis Ford Coppola, The Godfather - Part II (1974) and Peggy Sue Got Married (1986).
In 2011, she was diagnosed with lung cancer Van Runkle.
