Theater in Cronenberg

The Theater in Cronenberg (TiC ) is a run of a charitable company in the theater district of Wuppertal Cronenberg.

The TiC was founded as part of a communications center in 1986 near the center of Cronenberg in a 1831 built school building, the former Borner school. The original name of " theater in the Borner school" ( TIBS ) was abandoned after a year in favor of valid today.

Under the direction of its first artistic director, the director Ronald F. Stürzebecher, the theater was opened on 28 February 1986, the Knights of the miracle with Lope de Vega. The artists worked initially charge or on an expense allowance. 1988, the TiC Club was founded and since then support the theater. Even today also aspiring actors will be given the opportunity for a first professional stage experience in the theater.

The TiC generates 80 % of its budget through the sale of subscriptions and tickets. The remaining portion control at especially the members of the TiC clubs, sponsors and donations. Thus, the TiC stands on solid financial feet. Since 2008, the Tic also offers theater classes for children, teens and adults.

With the history of TiC some well-known persons of German television and theater life are connected, including comedian Axel Stein, actor Christoph Maria Herbst, the musical actor Patrick Stanke, Alen Hodzovic and Patrizia Margagliotta and VIVA presenter Nadine Vasta; they all accumulated experiences on stage in TiC.
