These Dreams

United States January 18, 1986

These Dreams (English for "These Dreams" ) is a rock ballad of the U.S. band Heart from their eponymous album in 1986, which was written by Bernie Taupin and Martin Page.

Background

Page and Taupin composed the song on behalf of Columbia Records actually for Stevie Nicks, but refused. So took Heart, who had just switched to Capitol Records, the title in 1985. The publication as a single took place on 18 January 1986.

The song is about a person who having difficulties retreats into a fantasy world and forget the reality. Nancy Wilson dedicated the title to her deceased leukemia girlfriend Sharon Hess.

In series such as Young and the Restless and The Sopranos as well as in the movie 50 First Dates, the ballad was their use.
