Theudoald

Theudoald, also Theodald, lat Theudoaldus (* 708, † probably 715) was an illegitimate son of Grimoald the Younger, Meier House of Neustria ( 714/715-26.09.715 ), and an unknown woman. He is a great-grandson of Arnulf of Metz.

His father was murdered 714. When his grandfather, Pepin the middle end of the same year was dying, his wife Plektrud, their common young grandson Theudoald persuaded him instead of an illegitimate by Pepin's sons, Charles and Childebrand to appoint to succeed as a home Meier. Pippin the Middle accepted, weakened by the disease, so that Theudoald short 714/715 the house Meier held office. Plektrud lost the struggle for power 717 against her stepson Charles Martel. His whereabouts are uncertain, would also be possible that he was killed after his fall 715. About a marriage or descendants nothing is known; probably very unlikely.
