Thirdmoon
Third Moon is an Austrian melodic death metal band from Linz.
Band History
Founded Thirdmoon 1994 by Wolfgang Roth Bauer. On the debut album " Grotesque Autumnal Weepings ", which released the band in 1997 CCP Records, influences of Nordic Black Metal bands are still audible, but lost soon. After 1998, the Frenchman Matias Larrede was come as second guitarist, signed Thirdmoon 1999 a contract with Napalm Records, under which they still " Aquis submersus " and 2000 " Bloodforsaken " published in the same year. A tour with freezing rain followed.
In 2001 Thirdmoon separated by Napalm Records. Three years later appeared in FM Records in July 2004, the next album "Sworn Enemy: Heaven ". Wolfgang Roth Bauer founded in the same year with several members of the freezing rain death metal project Eisblut, his second side project by In Slumber, which he founded in 2002. After a European tour with Grave and Disparaged the label FM Records in 2005 had to cease cooperation with Thirdmoon because of financial difficulties.
In April 2007, a new partner was found after a long break and line-up changes in Maintain Records from Berlin. In autumn 2007, their fifth album was released, entitled " Dimorphic Cynosure ".
