This Is Me (Monrose song)

This Is Me ( German: I am ) is the title of a song by the German girl group Monrose and their tenth single release. The song was released on 27 August 2010 as the second single from her fourth studio album Ladylike.

Background / Composition

This Is Me was written by Jonas Jeberg, who had already written the song Even Heaven Cries for the band, Mich Hansen, songwriter of the songs Certified and Step Aside from the third studio album by the group I Am, Paul Michael Barry and the British singer Shaznay Lewis.

It was produced song by Christian Buettner and Marcello Pagin by the Munich production team Famties Productions and the producer and songwriter Pete Kirtley. Kirtley has co-written, among others, the first hit single of the group Shame, as well as the Top 10 single Strictly Physical, as well as to the less successful Single Why Not Us.

The song was first introduced in the Thomas & Helga Show at the NDR as an acoustic version. Later, the song was released as part of the album Prelistenings on Myspace in the studio version. The cover for the single was designed by the three band members personally.

Lyrics

In the lyrics of This Is Me is about self -confidence, independence and perseverance. The song is a call to never give up, and get up again, even if one is on the ground.

This Is Me begins with Mandy Capristo, which sings the first few lines of the song a cappella. Thereafter Bahar Kızıl speaks the sentence " Do not Think I Can not Make It Alone" ( German: "Think not that I can not do it alone. "). This set like a red thread through the whole song and is repeated at the beginning of each verse after three lines of verse. Also in the chorus to this reduced rate is again. In the middle 8 of the song the phrase " Take a Look " is repeated in return for the phrase " I Will not Hurt".

Promotion

This Is Me is the title song of the ninth season of Popstars under the motto Girls Forever. Furthermore, the group sang the song at The Dome 55 in Hannover, Germany. Apart from the song received little promotion, except for some promotional trailer on ProSieben.
