Survey

For this album was an amateur choir, consisting of a few dozen friends and colleagues together. The liner notes of the album include a page of the score from the first song of the album (the " Fasola " part ).

This album was produced as a requiem for open and vacant places in Montreal, the hometown of Silver Mt Zion. However, the Requiem refers not only to Montreal, but to similar losses and similar decay all over the world, be it because of gentrification, urban city politics, social change or military action.

Reviews

James Mason wrote on allmusic.com: " The first song Sow Some Lonesome Corner So Many Flowers Bloom maneuvered the group out of the shadow of Godspeed You Black Emperor [ of the studio master ] and gives it its own character [ ... ] This!. is Our Punk-Rock is the most satisfying and rewarding album, A Silver Mt Zion have been delivered. " Nevertheless, he gave the plate only 3.5 out of 5.

Although Amanda Petrusich on Pitchfork Media praised the orchestral sound and the political background of the plate, however, criticized the irritating arrogance ( pretentiousness ) of the band. They awarded 7.4 out of 10 points to the board.
