Thomas Christiansen

Thomas Christiansen Tarín ( born March 11, 1973 in Copenhagen, Denmark ) is a former Danish - Spanish footballer.

Career

In the club

Christiansen played at Avedøre, Brøndby, Hvidovre, B 93 Copenhagen, FC Barcelona (1991 /92), Sporting Gijon (1992/ 93), CA Osasuna (1993 /94), Racing Santander (1994 /95), Real Oviedo ( 1995 / 96) Villarreal (1997/ 98), Terrassa (1999 /2000) and Panionios Athens. For the season 2000/ 01 he moved to Herfølge. After half a year he moved to VfL Bochum, with whom he descended from the Bundesliga in the 2000 /01 season. After the re-emergence 2003 he was top scorer (along with Giovane Elber ).

For the season 2003/ 04 he moved to Hannover 96 After he had undergone surgery for the second time due to a fatigue fracture in the right tibia, Christiansen finished his career after the season 2005/06.

In his career, the striker played 101 Bundesliga games and scored 34 goals. In the second division he came in 30 games on 17 goals.

In the National Team

Christiansen played in 1993 in two appearances for Spain, scoring one goal.

Trivia

Apart from the Danish he also has Spanish citizenship. His mother is Spanish, what is the reason for his second surname, Tarín. This he had to take his mother when he applied for the Spanish passport. Christiansen is married to a Spaniard; they have two children together.
