Thomas Flögel

Thomas Flögel ( born June 7, 1971 in Vienna ) is a retired Austrian football player.

In the course of his career, he was four times Austrian champion and cup winner. The OFB Supercup he could even win five times. In 1998 he won with Heart of Midlothian first Austrian the Scottish FA Cup.

Under coach Hans Krankl he was up to the separation by Andreas Ivanschitz in 2003, captain of the Austrian national football team.

Club career

Thomas Flögel, the son of former team player Rudi Flögel, a longtime player from Rapid Vienna, began his career at local rivals Austria Wien. From 1990 to 1997 Flögel played in Austria.

In 1997 he moved abroad to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premier League. After five years in the British Isles, he returned to Austria, where he played until 2004. For the duration of the 2004/2005 season he was at FC Superfund in Traun in use since he was deported from Austria. In the 2005/2006 season he played for VfB Admira Wacker Mödling. On 13 May 2006 he finished the last season game ( VfB Admira Wacker Mödling against Red Bull Salzburg) for the time being its active Bundesliga career. On 17 July 2006 he was announced as a new addition in the regional league First Vienna FC 1894. After injuring himself in the third league match of his new club Vienna to St. Pölten hard on the shoulder, he ended his career as a professional footballer.

On 4 September 2006, the First Vienna Football Club 1894 Thomas Flögel presented as the new athletic director. When Wiener Stadthalle 2007 tournament Flögel played again for the Vienna and scored four goals. On 23 April 2007, the collaboration of Thomas Flögel and the First Vienna FC 1894 terminated by mutual agreement. As a result he left his career at FK Blue-White Hollabrunn finish to let in the winter 2010/2011 they revived again for the first Simmering SC, for his father was already active as a player and coach at the indoor tournament of the Vienna Football Association. In the spring season, 2011, he introduced himself already as a substitute ready after there were some failures.

Football coach and school activities

Together with Damir Canadi he runs with ISPR individual sports coaching and also takes on the 1st Simmering SC special training sessions for the fight team as well as the newcomers. Since 2012 Flögel is coach of the Austrian women's Bundesliga USC Landhaus Vienna.

National

Flögel played 37 times for the Austrian national team and scored three goals. He made his debut April 14, 1992 in a 4-0 victory over Austria Lithuania.

He is also a member of the Austrian National Beach Soccer team.
