Thomas Gibson

Thomas Ellis Gibson ( born July 3, 1962 in Charleston, South Carolina ) is an American actor.

Gibson appeared for the first time at the age of ten years in a theater on. He studied at the College of Charleston, during which time he participated in the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in part. Later he graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School. In 1985 he made his debut in a professional theater in the play A map of the world by David Hare.

At the end of the 1980s, Gibson has appeared in several television shows such as Guiding Light. His first role in a movie he starred alongside Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Far and Away (1992). This was followed by the lead role in the movie Love and Human Remains (1993) and a supporting role in the film The Age of Innocence (1993). From 1994 to 1997 he appeared in the television series Chicago Hope, for which he was nominated in 1997 for a Screen Actors Guild Award. In the years 1997 to 2002, he played a starring role in the television series Dharma & Greg, for which he was nominated in 1999 and 2000 for a Golden Globe Award. In 1998 he was nominated for the Viewers for Quality Television Award in 2000 for a Golden Satellite Award.

This was followed by a starring role in the comedy Psycho Beach Party (2000) and a larger supporting role in the comedy Flintstones in Viva rock Vegas ( 2000), in which he appeared alongside Stephen Baldwin and Joan Collins. In the television film Monkey King - A The Lost Empire (2001) he again played the lead role. Since 2005 he has been seen in the series Criminal Minds.

Gibson is married to actress Christine Gibson since 1993. He has three children.
