Thomas Joseph Tobin

Thomas Joseph Tobin ( born April 1, 1948 in Pittsburgh) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Providence.

Life

Thomas Joseph Tobin received on 21 July 1973, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop on 3 November 1992 in Pittsburgh and Titular Bishop of Novica. The Bishop of Pittsburgh, Donald William Wuerl, donated to him on 27 December of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Were co-consecrators Anthony Gerard Bosco, Bishop of Greensburg, and Nicholas Carmen Dattilo, Bishop of Harrisburg.

On 5 December 1995 he was appointed bishop of Youngstown and introduced into the office on 2 February of next year. On 31 March 2005 he was appointed Bishop of Providence, and introduced into the office on 31 May of the same year.
