Thomas Keller (rowing)

Thomas Keller (* December 24, 1924, † September 29, 1989 in Monte Carlo ) was a Swiss rower and later President of the World Rowing Federation FISA.

Keller rowed for Grasshopper Club Zurich, the Swiss multiple national champion won at the helm European Championships 1950 bronze medal in One.

1958 Keller was elected to succeed his compatriot Gaston Mühlegg president of FISA and remained until his death in 1989, in office. In Keller's tenure, the establishment of World Rowing Championships was in 1962 and twelve years later the conversion of the world championships of four years of annual mode to mode; 1974 World Championships and 1976 Olympic from competitions are held in the women's rowing. From 1969 to 1986 Keller was also chairman of the Association of International Federations.

After Thomas Keller Thomas Keller Medal is named, the highest award of FISA.
