Thomas Kinsella (New York)

Thomas Kinsella ( born December 31, 1832 in County Wexford, Ireland, † February 11, 1884 in Brooklyn ) was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York.

Life

Born in Ireland Kinsella emigrated to the United States and settled in New York City, where he attended public schools. After moving to Cambridge in upstate New York in 1851, he learned the printing trade. He then worked at the Cambridge mail. 1858 Thomas Kinsella went to Brooklyn, where he was editor of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle 1861 on September 7. In 1866, Kinsella was postmaster in Brooklyn and a member of the Urban Water Commission, and the Education Committee.

Kinsella was selected for the Democrats in the 42nd Congress of the United States of America. His term lasted from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1873. Among the elections for a second term in 1872, he no longer went to. In 1874 he founded the Brooklyn Daily Sun, which later became the Daily Eagle, for Kinsella 1884 until his death in Brooklyn. Thomas Kinsella is buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
