Thomas Lambert (skier)

Thomas Lambert ( born May 31, 1984 in Mettmenstetten ) is a Swiss freestyle skier. He specializes in the discipline Aerials ( jumping). His three years younger brother Christopher operates the same sport.

Biography

Lambert was a gymnast in his youth and became aware of the age of twelve through the water jump in Mettmenstetten that is used in the summer for training on the freestyle jumping. As of March 1999, he took part in the European Cup. His debut in the Freestyle World Cup he had on 7 February 2003 in Steamboat Springs, where he jumped on the 32nd. The first World Cup points he won on March 1, 2003 # 25 in Spindleruv Mlyn. As a result, he was able to establish himself in midfield. At the 2005 World Championships in Ruka, he was eighth, which was his best result until then.

In September 2005, Lambert joined in the World Cup for the first time in the top ten before, which earned him qualification for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. On 7 January 2007, he missed 4th place in the World Cup jumping from Mont Gabriel is just the platform, as on 21 December of the same year in Lianhua. Lambert studied economics and business administration at the University of Zurich. Since May 2011 he has been President of the Athletes' Commission of the Swiss Olympic Association, he entered thus replace the fencer Gianna Hablützel - Bürki.
