Thomas Marshal Bibighaus

Thomas Marshal Bibighaus ( born March 17, 1817 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, † June 18, 1853 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1851 and 1853 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thomas Bibighaus attended the public schools of his home. After a subsequent law degree in 1839 and its recent approval as a lawyer, he started in Lebanon to work in this profession. Politically, he was a member of the Whig party.

In the congressional elections of 1850 Bibighaus in the 14th electoral district of Pennsylvania was in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Charles Wesley Pitman on March 4, 1851. Since he resigned in 1852 for health reasons on another candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1853. This was marked by the events leading up to the Civil War.

After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Thomas Bibighaus again practiced as a lawyer. He died on 18 June 1853 in Lebanon, where he was also buried.
