Thomas Noguchi

Thomas T. Noguchi, born Tsunetomi Noguchi (野 口 恒 富jap, Noguchi Tsunetomi; born January 4, 1927 in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan) is an American forensic scientist. He was the chief coroner for Los Angeles County in California, where from 1967 to 1982 worked. He led in this function autopsies of deceased by, including such figures as Divine, Marilyn Monroe, Robert F. Kennedy, Janis Joplin, Albert Dekker, William Holden, John Belushi, Natalie Wood and Sharon Tate.

Noguchi has taught at several universities and was active as a professor at California State University and also at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was head of the pathological institute.

In 1999 he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure for his services to the forensics in Japan awarded.
