Thomas Vonn

Thomas Vonn ( born December 3, 1975 in Newburgh, Orange County, New York ) is a former American alpine skier. He specializes in the disciplines of giant slalom and Super -G. He was married from 2007 to 2013 with the alpine skier Lindsey Vonn.

Biography

Vonn won in the seasons 1998/99 and 1999/ 00 the giant slalom standings of the Nor -Am Cup. In the Ski World Cup he played between 1998 and 2004 in the disciplines of giant slalom and Super -G total of 55 races, but never found the connection to the top. In 13 races, he reached the points, best finish was a 13th place on 8 December 2002 at the Super G in Beaver Creek ( Colorado). His most successful season was the winter of 2001 / 02, when he failed to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City and drove there in the super- G on the ninth. One month after the end of the game he was American champion in giant slalom. The last World Cup races he contested in December 2003 until March 2005, he started at FIS races, in the European Cup and the Nor- Am Cup.

On 29 September 2007 he married in Deer Valley his longtime girlfriend, the alpine skier Lindsey Vonn. By the end of 2011, he was part of their coaching staff. The couple separated in late 2011, their marriage was divorced in early 2013.
