Three Cliffs Bay

Three Cliffs Bay ( also Oxwich Bay called ) is located on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, south of the town Penmaen and southwest of Southgate (Wales).

Like most beaches on Gower Three Cliffs Bay has the fine sand as well as a variety of protective niches and micro- caverns, which makes Three Cliffs to a favorite bathing place. Accessible Bay is just across footpaths. One begins opposite the church of Penmaen. The other runs from South Gate from the west. This bay is enclosed on the east by the smaller Pobbles Bay and on the west by the Cliff High Tor. In the Bay of Pennard Pill, a small river that flows through a wide valley west of Pennard in wide meanders opens.

Are the Penmaen Burrows and Burrows Nicholaston between the mouth of Pennard Bill and Oxwich. The two areas belong to the National Trust since 1967 and are regarded as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. On the mountain ridge Penmaen Burrows the remains of a Stone Age tomb, a medieval ring wall and the ruins of a medieval church can be seen. There is probably buried under the dunes bordering the medieval village Stedwarlango. In the dunes of Nicholaston Burrows grow blood-red cranesbill, pyramids Dog Wurz and several species of lichens. At low tide, Three Cliffs Bay and Pobbles are a continuous beach, also Oxwich is dry foot reach, so that one to Oxwich quasi finds a continuous beach of South Gate.
