Thunder Road (roller coaster)

Thunder Road Carowinds ( Charlotte, North Carolina, United States) is a racing wooden roller coaster manufacturer Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, which was opened in 1976. The design is based on the Rebel Yell roller coaster at Kings Dominion. The train crosses the border between North Carolina and South Carolina, where the journey begins in South Carolina.

It was named and addressed after the movie Thunder Road. At the opening of Bobby Allison and David Pearson NASCAR were present.

Originally owned Thunder Road trains the jet stream from the Riverview Park, where a train were discussed by a vehicle of a sheriff and a train for a vehicle of a bandit; suitable for film. In 1980 they were replaced by new trains of the Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters manufacturer. In 1995, a train was turned so that it moves backwards on the track, but it was 2008 again turned to go forward again.

For the construction of 2 × 1164 m long distances over 1,200 m³ of wood, 60-70 tons of nails, bolts, and rails, as well as 21 m³ color were needed.
