The Thuringian Muschwitz is a 9.4 km long border between Bavaria and Thuringia Bach.
Course
It rises as the Franconian Muschwitz on the watershed between the Elbe and the Rhine near the 726 meter high Kulmbergs Schlegel. It ends with sheet Schmidt hammer, a district of Lichtenberg, in the Selbitz.
More
The entire creek and adjacent Talzonen are designated as a nature reserve with an area of 22 ha.
Origin of the name
The name origin is not known for sure, but probably of Slavic origin. It is possible in this case, the return on Moš'ovica ( Moos Bach), which actually moss is meant. The Thuringian Muschwitz would thus be the Thuringian Bach moss.
