Tibor Melichárek

Tibor Melichárek ( born November 21, 1976 in Topoľčany, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Dukla Trencin in the Slovak Extraliga since 2010.

Career

Tibor Melichárek began his career as a hockey player with his hometown club VTJ Topoľčany, for whom he played in the second-rate 1 League from 1995 to 2000. Previously, he had already been active in their youth. In the 2000 /01 season, the attacker was the first time in the Slovak Extraliga under contract and scored 50 games the main round 23 scorer points, including 13 goals, for the HC Slovan Bratislava. In addition, he scored in seven playoff games another four scorer points, including two goals. After six years in their league rivals HC Dukla Trenčín, with whom he was in 2004 Slovakian champion, Melichárek changed in the summer of 2007 for the first time abroad in Europe, where he received a contract with HC Sparta Prague in the Czech Extraliga. With Sparta he reached the second place in the 2008 IIHF European Champions Cup. After the Slovaks started the 2008/09 season with Sparta Prague, he changed the course of the season, first for HC Ocelari Třinec and then for HC České Budějovice, where he remained until 2010.

For the 2010/11 season Melichárek returned to his former club HC Dukla Trenčín back in the Slovak Extraliga.

Internationally

For Slovakia Melichárek took part in the world championships in 2007 and 2008.
