Tijuana River

Río Tijuana

The Río Tijuana ( Tijuana English River ) is a 195 km long river in northern Baja California in Mexico and in the extreme south of the U.S. state of California. It flows along the southern border of California to the Pacific. The Tijuana River is dammed in the southeast of Tijuana Abelardo L. Rodríguez by the dam, for irrigation and drinking water supply.

The Tijuana River rises in the Sierra de Juárez, located about 70 km from Ensenada in the Mexican state of Baja California. Then it flows about 8 kilometers from the Pacific through Tijuana. Then it flows at San Ysidro, a suburb of San Diego, across the state border and reaches 15 kilometers south of downtown San Diego in Imperial Beach by the Pacific Ocean.
