Tim and Chris Stamper

Tim Stamper (* February 1961, full name Timothy David Joseph Stamper ) and Chris Stamper (* October 1958, full name Christopher Timothy John Stamper ) are a video game designer and the founder of the British video game company Rare.

Career

In 1982, Tim and Chris Stamper the development studio Ashby Computer Graphics ( ACG), which published under the name Ultimate Play The Game. That was 1985, the video game company Rare forth. The first, developed by the Stamper brothers game is the 1983 published JetPac. Then Tim and Chris Stamper were involved in many game developments, initially directly to the developments, rather later in a supervisory role. In 1992, the Stamper brothers and her team have developed a new technology that it was possible game world and characters first as 3D objects to be modeled on Silicon Graphics workstations and render to True Color. This footage was then converted and could be used in the form of pixel graphics for the console Super Nintendo Entertainment System. This technology was considered groundbreaking and was first used in the SNES game Donkey Kong Country.

On January 2, 2007 it was announced that Tim and Chris Stamper will be retiring after 20 years of the company's management. After her resignation Mark Betteridge and Gregg Mayle took over the management of the company.
