Tim Hug

Tim Hug ( born August 11, 1987 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss nordic combined, which, however, in ski jumping and cross-country skiing is launched.

Career

Hugs first appearance in the junior was in January 2003, the same year he competed in his first FIS races, both in the Nordic combined and ski jumping. The next year was mixed for him; while he clearly missed the top 30 at the Junior World Championships, in a FIS race he managed a sixth place. For this purpose he started ski jumping for the first time in the Continental Cup, where, however, he was only 60. In 2005 his services remained stable in the vicinity of the twentieth Ranges, at the Junior World Cup, he was Achtzehnter in the sprint of the combination and twelfth with the team in ski jumping. In November 2005, Hug also went cross-country skiing for the first time at a FIS race at the start. The year 2006 ended with some, but rather unsuccessful starts in B- World Cup, for which he was fourth at a FIS race. In 2007, he finished without a top- 10 ranking in the Nordic combined, ski jumping, he could only be eight in a competition of the FIS Cup.

In the year 2008 started with a Hug eighth place in the Gundersen method in B- World Cup. Thanks to further good results, he was first nominated in late January of the year for the Nordic Combined World Cup, where he narrowly missed his first World Cup points. While he was in the B- World Cup the combination achieved two podium finishes at the end of the season 2007/ 08 he also took part in the Swiss Cross-Country Championship, where he was fourteenth in the sprint. In the summer -GP Hug go again ordinary placements, so he was allowed to start again in the season opener 2008/ 09 and 21 was.

On January 4, 2013, he won his first World Cup event in the Russian Tchaikovsky. It was the first World Cup victory of a Swiss combiner for nearly 20 years.
