Tim Squyres
Timothy S. " Tim " Squyres ( born March 29, 1959 in Wenonah, Gloucester County, New Jersey) is an American editor.
Life
Timothy S. Squyres is the younger brother of U.S. astronomy professor Steve Squyres. Both made their high school degree at Gateway Regional High School and graduated from Cornell University later. Originally Tim was intent on a career in science. Only when he saw films of Robert Altman, he discovered his interest in the film. He then went to New York University to originally study directing and cinematography there. But he ended up in the cut and pulled himself from a student film to the next until he landed at the Independent Film. After several unpaid internships he was lucky and landed in sound editing by Anna - exile in New York. This led to further Tonschnitten until he landed in the film section and 1991 with Blowback delivered its first autonomous section. About the director Ted Hope he learned Ang Lee know.
For Lee, he cut since 1992, donating hands ten films, including Who rides with the devil, Sense and Sensibility and last Life of Pi: Life of Pi. For Tiger, Hidden Dragon in 2001, he received nominations and awards from different film awards, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Editing and a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Editing. Squyres said to work with Ang Lee, that both he grew with the cut at the movies as well with Lee, directed by the section may be ( I've grown up as editor of editing his films, and he's grown up as a director with me editing his films. ). However, Squyres had always problems in Lee's films, including Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Eat Drink Man Woman, with the intersection of dialogue scenes. He does not speak Mandarin (One thing did makes it challenging is that I do not speak Mandarin. ) And even though he knows some Mandarin vocabulary, the grammar is absolutely foreign to him (I do know a fair amount of Mandarin vocabulary, but I have no concept of Mandarin grammar at all ).
With Gosford Park Squyres 2001 could cut a film for Altman.
Squyres directly cut four movies at home on his laptop while he was working in consultation with the respective New York editing studio, so he cut next to Lust, Caution, Rachel Getting Married and Taking Woodstock in this way.
