Tim Wheeler (academic)

Timothy Wheeler is an English psychologist, Vice - Chancellor and Rector of the University of Chester.

Life and work

His training in psychology took place at Bangor University in Wales, where he completed his education with a PhD in psychology.

Wheeler was in the 1970s, a lecturer in psychology and COMMUNICATION at Sheffield Hallam university. He was Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Sociology at University College Dublin and in 1985 Professor and Director of the School of Social Research at the Robert Gordon University in Scotland. At the same time he was temporarily visiting professor at St John 's College (Oxford), or Head of the Department of Communication and Media at Bournemouth University. In 1991 he received the call to the Southampton Institute, whose director he was in 1997. Wheeler was appointed to head the University College Chester, 1998; his appointment as Vice - Chancellor and Rector was so 2005. since his activities as Rector, he was responsible for the purchase of the former Keisverwaltungsgebäudes ( County Hall Chester ) and the annexation of the Kingsway High School by the University of Chester.

He is married and has three daughters.
