Timaeus is an impact crater on the moon in the lunar north front on the northern edge of Mare Frigoris, southwest of the crater level of W. Bond and northwest of Archytas.

The relatively young crater shows hardly eroded edges and has a central mountain on.

The crater was named in 1935 by the IAU by the Greek astrologers Timaeus.
