Timo Susi

Timo Antero Susi ( born January 25, 1959 in Kouvola ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player. His son, Atte Susi is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Timo Susi began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of KooKoo, for the first team to 1978 he was active from 1974 in the I- divisioona, the Finnish second division. Then he ran for 14 years on for Tappara Tampere of the SM - liiga. In Tappara he has always belonged to the guide players and was team captain from 1986 to 1991 in Tampere. With his team he won in the years 1979, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1988, a total of six times the Finnish championship dominated as Tappara the National Hockey.

During his playing days Susi set several records in the SM- liiga. In his career he scored 38 goals in the SM- liiga playoffs, which he reached a new record. On November 15, 1984, he scored nine points, which he set a new record for points scorer in an SM - liiga game. In 2000, he was honored with induction into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame. Internationally

For Finland, Susi took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 1978 and 1979 at junior level. At the Winter Games in 1988 he won the silver medal with his team.
